Induced investments estimated at 3.5 billion dirhams

MedZ organized on September 20, 2022 on the site of the Agropole du Loukkos project a regional information day for the presentation of investment opportunities within the park. This event, which was held in partnership with the wilaya of the Region of Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima and the Region of Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima, had the particular objectives of presenting the assets of the park and the region, the assistance offered to project leaders by the various State services and the park’s value offer in terms of reception infrastructure.

About the Loukkos Agropole, Omar Elyazghi, Chairman of the Board of MedZ indicated that these “components were determined by integrating the different conditions of international competitiveness, whether in terms of basic equipment such as roads, infrastructure and logistics, or in terms of services, to enable investors in the agri-food sector to carry out their activities under the best conditions”. To carry this project through its various phases of development, a company, called “Agropole du Loukkous”, is being created, notes the management of MedZ, adding that its round table is made up of the regional council of Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima, MedZ and Crédit Agricole du Maroc.

This company will be responsible in particular for the development, marketing and management of the park. Located in the rural town of Zouada, in the heart of the province of Larache, the Agropole Loukkos project will be carried out over an area of 102 ha, of which the 1st phase is planned over 50 hectares. It will require an overall envelope of 457 MDH and should, in the long term, generate an induced investment of 3.5 billion DH allowing the creation of nearly 7,500 jobs in the region. This project aims to promote the main agricultural sectors of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region and to transform, market and distribute foodstuffs at the regional, national and international levels.

It is also a question of developing investment in the agro-food and manufacturing industries and services. The site offers a program made up of several components including an agroparc dedicated to industrial activities, related industries, transport and storage, as well as showrooms, a qualipole housing the laboratories of ONSSA, INRA and Morocco Foodex , an agrotech made up of a business incubator, training institutes and an innovation center or even a service center including utilities, operating services, businesses and people.
