Speakers at a conference on “the valorization of the products of the earth”, organized Tuesday in Guelmim, underlined the importance of local products as an essential lever for the development of the region of Guelmim-Oued-Noun.
During this meeting, organized as part of the 4th edition of Franco-Moroccan meetings on development actions at work in the southern provinces, initiated by the France-Morocco Peace and Sustainable Development Foundation in partnership with the Association Ribat Al Fath and the wilaya of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, economic actors and researchers, Moroccan and French, also highlighted the rich potential of the region, citing in particular the local products which, thanks to the Plan Maroc Vert, now play a major role in development and the local economy.
In this sense, the dean of the Faculty of Sciences in Tetouan, Abdellatif Moukrim, noted that the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun has significant potential to be exploited in an optimal way, such as local products, sea fishing, solidarity economy, agriculture, renewable energies, tourism, culture and aquaculture.
The promotion and marketing of local products require partnerships with economic actors, in particular French companies, he said, highlighting the importance of the Moroccan-French partnership in this area, in particular medicinal and aromatic plants. , argan tree, aloe vera, couscous and dates.
