Smart battery, energy transition, “Smart grids”…
The use of weather forecasting tools, which are increasingly precise and reliable, allows producers to anticipate the production of photovoltaic or wind electricity.
The challenges of digitalization in the energy transition, intelligent Li-ion battery, the emergence of self-consumption, microgrids and new consumer uses… so many themes that were discussed during the Energy Transition Digitalization Forum Digital Energy which took place on September 20 in Casablanca. This event organized by Interworld in partnership with Fenelec (National Federation of Electricity, Electronics and Renewable Energies), ANRE (National Electricity Regulation Agency) French Tech and INSA Alumni Morocco highlighted the role of digitalization in energy transformation and advances in this area.
This meeting was marked by the participation of Moroccan researcher and inventor Rachid Yazami. Several panels were held during this meeting dealing with topics such as the challenges of the digital transformation of the energy value chain, the smart battery and digital tools to support the energy transition or even smart grids and meters. intelligent “smart meter” essential solutions for distribution network operators for the success of the energy transition. Indeed, the energy transition increases the need for digitalization of the electrical system. Consequently, it has become a necessity for the actors of the electricity system value chain, namely producers, transporters, distributors and consumers.
It shows that the use of weather forecasting tools, which are increasingly precise and reliable, allows producers to anticipate the production of photovoltaic or wind electricity. Similarly, the intermittent nature linked to renewables makes it necessary to adopt smart grids which allow more efficient management of the balance between supply and demand. In the same sense, different technologies can be adopted in the context of digitalization, including smart grids, smart meters, prediction based on AI, blockchain, smart batteries. This forum was an opportunity to present these different technologies and show their fields of application in the rapidly changing energy sector. It is a space that unveils digitalization solutions to support, accelerate and succeed in the energy transition. The opportunity was also to discuss partnership and investment opportunities for businesses.
